Chevrolet Announces The All New 2020 Silverado HD
Castle Chevrolet in Villa Park is pleased to announce the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD as the top pick for Best in Show at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. With its bigger and bolder look, the redesigned 2020 Chevy Silverado provides more power, durability, and strength and remains one of the best-selling heavy-duty trucks in the country.
According to senior research editor Mike Hanley, “The redesigned Silverado’s bold, distinctive design might draw you in, but it’s the truck’s impressive capabilities that’ll keep potential customers interested. Nearly all heavy-duty pickup owners use their truck for trailering and the Silverado’s improvements are designed to make this task easier and safer with dramatically increased maximum trailering ratings and new camera-based trailer-monitoring technology.”
The Chevy Silverado can now tow heavy loads without any resistance and is built on the solid foundation of high-strength steel and delivers the capability to handle heavy duty tasks. It is engineered with seven different types of steel, with each gauge selected to maximize this capability for a truck that is built to last many years. The maximum towing capability is a whopping 35,500 pounds making the 2020 Silverado the most capable truck in heavy duty.
The innovative technology of the all-new Silverado exceeds all safety expectations with the Advanced Trailering System. The myChevrolet phone app allows drivers to conduct a trailer light test that uses an automatic exterior light sequence to assist in confirming that the trailer is properly secured. What used to be a two-person job can now be done with one individual.
The Advanced Trailering System includes:
- Auto Parking Brake Assistance
- Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
- Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- Trailering Label
- Standard Rear Vision Trailer Camera
- Two side view cameras mounted in the side view mirrors
As a result, the new in-vehicle Advanced Trailering System and up to fifteen available exterior views are formulated to make hitching easier and driving with a trailer a smoother experience.
For convenience, it was designed with lower bedside walls for more trailer clearance for the fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing, and a linked front end to make mounting a snowplow simpler than ever before.
As for the heavy-duty cargo volume, it is now larger than any other competitor. The Durabed of the all-new Silverado HD is the most efficient bed in its class. It is made with high-strength steel and features 12 standard tie-downs. It offers LED cargo area lighting and a built-in 120-volt outlet with a larger cornerstep rear bumper and an all-new side BedStep between the cab and rear wheel.
This Silverado is packing and powerful, it comes with a new overhead-valve 6.6-liter small-block V-8 featuring a cast-iron block with aluminum heads and direct gasoline injection made for great fuel efficiency. Incredibly, the output is 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque!
The engine also offers an integrated Power Takeoff (PTO) package on the Allison transmission and dual alternators on both engine options. This makes it easy to power the accessories you need for commercial applications.
With its durable design, innovative technology, and powerful engine the 2020 Silverado lives up to the hype of being the most capable Silverado HD ever.
